On the bench
We keep a loaded launcher on the bench next to the chargers. It has turned more dull waits into races than anything else here, and the case means we stop finding nanos in the bottom of bags.
The case is the design decision that matters: six slots, a lid that becomes a ramp and one button that sends a nano out already running. Kids use it as a start line, the whole thing travels in a rucksack, and it has turned a lot of dull waits into races.
The launcher has no remote, no remote control and nothing rechargeable: the bots move on their own cells and the case is the only mechanism. Experimenting with ramp angles is half the movement you get out of it, friends queue for the button, and the races are near endless on a hard table. The flashing bot in the box is the only thing with lights — nothing here is glow-in-the-dark.
It sits on the nano playsets shelf, in among the rest of the HEX BOTS robotic toys, so it went through the same yardstick as every other bot there before it got a card here.
Numbers our mechanic logged
Sizes, cells and surfaces below are what came off the bench; the ages are the maker’s call, not ours.
- ControlButton launch
- PowerBonus Flash Nano in the box
- FloorCarries any nano bot in the range
- Ages4 to 6 and up
- ShelfNano Playsets
Who plays with it, and what stands next to it
Customers who travel with the collection buy the launcher. Play begins at the ramp: load, press, and a nano is crawling across a table before it lands flat. The case design is the cool part, the fun turns dead time into a race, and the six slots make it the gift that finally stops nanos living loose in a bag.
It carries any nano, so the six-pack and the playset both belong beside it. If you came looking for something that climbs walls, the gecko crawlers are one shelf over — one glows in the dark.
Getting it, swapping it
Delivery, tracking, swaps and warranty claims are handled on the order page of the store you bought from — they hold the order, we hold the bench. Read how we split that in Doorstep & swaps.
The instructions in the box run to one sheet; our charge and care guide covers cells, run life and storage between runs. Surfaces and charging questions come to bench@hexbots.pages.dev, Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm ET.
