On the bench
We keep the widow set low on the bench. Flat stance plus a dark hallway is the combination that gets a reaction; raised stance is for crossing a rug or a doorway strip without catching a leg.
Setting the stance is the part kids enjoy most — legs up for a rug, legs down to slip under a door. The design is leaner than the tarantula, the movement quicker, and two rechargeable cells mean an evening of runs rather than ten cool minutes and a flat battery.
Two of these on one remote control channel is the most fun we have had down here: both spiders move together with their lights on until somebody laughs. The charge is not endless and friends will want the remote back, so keep the cable near the floor you run on.
It sits on the robotic creatures shelf, in among the rest of the HEX BOTS robotic toys, so it went through the same yardstick as every other bot there before it got a card here.

Who plays with it, and what stands next to it
Customers tend to own this one alongside the tarantula, and the play is different: lower, faster, better at gaps. The adjustable design is what the experimenting is for — find the stance your floor likes, then turn it loose. It is the prank spider we would give as a gift to somebody who already has one, and the crawling movement is cool in a dim room.
If you want a bot that leaves the floor, the glow-in-the-dark gecko crawler on the wall crawlers shelf climbs painted walls on suction. The widow stays down here with the robotic creatures.
Getting it, swapping it
Delivery, tracking, swaps and warranty claims are handled on the order page of the store you bought from — they hold the order, we hold the bench. Read how we split that in Doorstep & swaps.
The instructions in the box run to one sheet; our charge and care guide covers cells, run life and storage between runs. Surfaces and charging questions come to bench@hexbots.pages.dev, Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm ET.
