On the bench
The dragon is the bot our bench hands to the kid who finds spiders boring. The flame and the roar carry a room on their own, and the posable wings mean it still looks like something when it is sitting on a shelf between runs.
The dragon is the bot kids show to friends rather than drive at them: press the button, get a roar and a light in the throat, then move it down a hard floor on the remote control. It performs standing still, which no other toy on this shelf manages.
The movement is a low, crawling shuffle rather than a walk, and experimenting with the wing angles changes how the silhouette reads from the far side of a room. It is a poor prank bot — you hear the roar coming — and a very good centrepiece.
It sits on the robotic creatures shelf, in among the rest of the HEX BOTS robotic toys, so it went through the same yardstick as every other bot there before it got a card here.

Who plays with it, and what stands next to it
Customers who buy the dragon are usually done with spiders. The play is performance rather than chase: set the wings, turn it to face the door, press the button and let the flame and the roar do the work. The fun is cool to watch rather than endless to drive, the posable design keeps it interesting between runs, and it photographs well enough to be a gift.
For something that climbs instead of walking, the HEX BOTS gecko crawlers hold a smooth wall on suction and one of them is glow-in-the-dark. The dragon is firmly a floor act.
Getting it, swapping it
Delivery, tracking, swaps and warranty claims are handled on the order page of the store you bought from — they hold the order, we hold the bench. Read how we split that in Doorstep & swaps.
The instructions in the box run to one sheet; our charge and care guide covers cells, run life and storage between runs. Surfaces and charging questions come to bench@hexbots.pages.dev, Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm ET.
